Genesee Land Trust’s mission is to protect natural lands and waters in the greater Rochester region and provide community connections to nature. Serving the City of Rochester, adjacent suburban towns, and rural communities in Monroe and Wayne counties, Genesee Land Trust has conserved more than 7,500 acres of land, protected 21 family farms, manages 19 nature preserves open to the public, and works with a wide and diverse array of partner organizations and municipalities.

Open Positions:

Director of Development

Genesee Land Trust is seeking an experienced Director of Development to spearhead and expand our fundraising initiatives. This role entails cultivating relationships with individuals, community organizations, and local foundations to bolster local conservation efforts and support our organization's growth through major gifts, grants, and planned giving.

Land Protection Specialist

Genesee Land Trust seeks an experienced and passionate Land Protection Specialist (the Specialist) who will play a key role on the land protection team serving as the primary staff member working with landowners to permanently conserve their land. From project inception to closing, the Specialist will work with landowners, attorneys, contractors, and partners to achieve land and water conservation outcomes that benefit the greater Rochester region. The Specialist will acquire conservation easements, fee lands, and other long-term conservation agreements using both traditional and innovative land conservation tools.
