Reed Road Bird Refuge

Location: Town of Chili, Monroe County

Size: 116 acres

Description: Mature wooded wetland. Excellent migratory and nesting bird habitat.

Public Access: No marked trails. Property can be very wet in the spring.

History: The property was originally acquired in 1949 by Bird Refuges Inc. In 2002, 111 acres of this property were transferred to Genesee Land Trust for permanent protection. A 20-acre contiguous parcel was also transferred from Burroughs Audubon Nature Club at that time.


Getting There

Driving Directions: The Preserve is on Reed Roadd, between Ballantyne and Morgan Roads. Follow Rte 383 south from Rochester. Turn east on Morgan Road (Co Rd 133), then turn north on Reed Road. Park on the side of Reed Road. Parking is very limited.
